A habit is something that you can do daily to improve the quality of your life. Eventually, a habit becomes routine, and you no longer think of it as a "to-do" but rather something you just do!

Divide your goals into categories, then choose one habit to work on daily for the month. Here are some easy habits to track in your daily routine:

Social & Relationships

  • Compliment a stranger
  • Practice active listening at dinner
  • Limit your time on social media
  • Plan face-to-face interactions
  • Promote positivity

Health & Wellness

  • Drink 8 glasses of water
  • Take your daily vitamins
  • Eat (or drink) your greens
  • Get outside for a 20 minute walk
  • Stretch for at least five minutes
  • Take the stairs
  • Create a skin care routine (maybe it's 7 steps, or maybe it's just sunscreen)

Career & Work

  • Pack a lunch
  • Practice taking initiative
  • Write a to-do list
  • Inbox ZERO!
Don't forget to give it time-- change doesn't happen overnight!

Why are bad habits so much easier to keep around than good ones? Our brains like to feel comfortable and safe - and bad habits can feel like a cozy (but bad for us!) blanket. Whether consciously acted on or not, we love the dopamine rush of a fulfilled bad habit craving. When we try to change our brains, they steer us back to what we know - the habits we want to break.
